Create a Gold Mine in 2009!

Well, its that time of year again when people make New Years resolutions they don't keep past January 31st. I vow not to be part of that evil statistic this year. Hence, my first goal already set in place. I choose to set goals and follow them through to the end. Share with me your goals for 2009. Create your own gold mine. I chose not to elaborate on all the details of each goal here but they are written on paper for me to view everyday

Family/Home

I Spend more time with my family including my 3 children and husband. My husband and I have one night a month without children. (our date night)
We have a family night once per month.
We have a personal night every other month. My husband and I get 6 a year.

Physical/Health

I lost 75 pounds by November 15th 2009. I had to be down before Turkey day arrived. I spend 15-30 minutes each morning exercising by walking, crunches, lifting small weights and any other I decide to add to the list.

Mental/Educational

I read 12 books from start to finish in 2009!
I read for at least 20 minutes everyday.
I teach my children the value in reading. My oldest has started reading 2 pages per day.
I wrote many articles in 2009.

Spiritual/Ethical

I read my bible for 10 minutes everyday.
I give my first fruits to the lord every week.
I serve with a humble heart.

Financial/Career

I made the title of Director in my home business by December 31st 2009!
I was consistent in my daily action steps towards this achievement!
I support key members in reaching the next title in their business!
I quit my part-time job the week before Thanksgiving 2009!

Make your goals come to pass:

1. Declare them in writing
2. Place them where they can be seen everyday
3. Write them like it has already happened

Good Luck and have a prosperous year.

Lessons from The Great Pumpkin!

Have you ever watched the cartoon "The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown? True life lessons can be learned from that movie. It doesn't matter if its on television or a real life situation, someone will always try to steal your dreams.

Do you find those dream thieves in your Network Marketing journey? Always telling you it will never happen. You are crazy for trying one of those things? You will never make any money at that? I know I hear it everyday as I snicker all the way to the bank.

Poor ole Linus has to deal with the same nagging noises as many of us do while building our Network Marketing Business.

The short film starts off with a brief picture of every character in their normal state while Linus is day dreaming about the Great Pumpkin. He shares his beliefs with all of his friends only for them to laugh at him. Each friend and family member take their turns at mocking him over his crazy idea of The Great Pumpkin leaving toys for all the good little children on Halloween night.
Sound familiar with your business? It gets worse!

Linus decides to mail a letter to the Great Pumpkin about his intentions to wait in the most sincere pumpkin patch. At this point, he reaches his first obstacle with the mailbox. He isn't tall enough to reach the door to open the mail box. Lucy refuses to help him because she thinks the whole idea is ridiculous.

How many times do our family and friends fail to support us with our business because they too think its ridiculous? or maybe they are afraid we might actually be on to something and become successful to only leave them behind. I like the latter reason.

It's Halloween night and Linus makes the sacrifice to miss the trick or treat hours and a party so he can watch for the great pumpkin. He refuses to give up on his dreams and allow others to lure him into their meaningless activities. How about you? Do you make the sacrifices or are you easily swayed to go with the popular movie or season finale of American idol when the weekly conference call is happening which could excel your business to the next level? We must be willing to make the sacrifices for our business to grow.

Finally, Sally believes in Linus but only after being ridiculed herself by the same group of friends. She is reluctant to stay with Linus but decides once her friends aren't looking to show her enthusiasm and trust in Linus.
Wow, is this familiar or what? Many of our friends will be customers of our fabulous products but never a believer in what we do with Network Marketing and that is ok. I'll share my opportunity and products with them anyway. Never be ashamed of what you have to offer. If it is a life changing opportunity then like anything else you love, you will want to share it with everyone.

After a long evening and missing all the fun with no appearance of the Great Pumpkin, Sally finally becomes frustrated with the idea. She blames Linus for all the fun activities she missed while waiting for the Great Pumpkin.

How many team members have become frustrated when they didn't sell any products? They couldn't sign anyone up in their business only after a few short weeks? Our business is a marathon not a sprint, it takes time, consistency, and persistence.

Will you be like Linus Van Pelt when it comes to your business?

Make the sacrifices no matter what is going on around you?

Believe in what you are doing even though everyone and everything around you is tugging you in a different direction?

More to consider from the Great Pumpkin.

The Law of Attraction: Do you think Charlie was thinking about Rocks during the whole Halloween night?

People do care about you and your success if they don't admit it. Lucy brought Linus in out of the cold night in the Pumpkin Patch.

One of the nicest things my mother has ever said to me during my journey with Network Marketing is this:

"You are like Moses when it comes to your business, building something great that you may never see but able to pass on to your children."

As the movie comes to an end, Charlie thinks Linus no longer believes in the Great Pumpkin but Linus refuses to allow anyone to steal his dream. He will be right back out in the pumpkin patch next year.

Will you still be building your business next year or until your dreams come true?
